Do I do the same with mods when I'm playing the game via Steam? Can I use mods from any source (eg Nexus)? When I d/l a mod & unpack a mod, I have typically a. Any mods I wanted I unpacked & put in the Morrowind\Data Files folder. When I played Morrowind years ago the game was installed locally. Is that a patch or a mod (or family of mods)? I've also seen on one of these boards that before I apply the Morrowind code patch I should run the game once. Morrowind code patch - info seems straightforward: i d/l v2.1 from Nexus.Īre there any other patches I've missed? And once I've sorted out which patches to install, in what order do I install them? On the Elder Scrolls wiki page () I'm advised to install ver 1.6.5beta, and then to install either or both of 1.6.5d and 1.6.6 - is it either or both? (It's sort of implied that I only install 1.6.5beta then 1.6.6 but it's not spelled out) And are these the latest versions? Are these patches needed for the GotY edition, and if so, which version do I d/l & install? Is this the case with Steam's GotY edition? There are also patches for the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions themselves, and Bethesda make a distinction between the European & N American editions. I assume the Bloodmoon expansion therefore constains the official patch. Official patch - I'm warned by Bethesda not to run the patch if I've installed Bloodmoon. Information re patches on the net is confusing.
I've had a nose round the forums but I can't find out the info I need - apologies if it's there & I've missed it. Before I launch myself into the game I've a few questions I hope someone can help with. I've just bought the Steam version of Morrowind GotY edition, which should include the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions.
